Criminal Cases:
The Ripley County Sheriff’s Office received 47 criminal cases during March.

Out of the 47 criminal cases received, 33 were either closed or resulted in arrest and 14 cases remain open, under investigation. The most frequent charge for March was Battery.
Motor Vehicle Accidents:
Deputies investigated a total of 43 motor vehicle accidents. There were 36 property damage accidents, 7 personal injury accidents with 9 people being injured and 0 fatalities. The most frequent cause of accidents was running of the road.
Civil Process Service:
A total of 28 warrants and 175 civil process papers were served during March 2013. They include subpoenas, summons, notifications of Sheriff’s Sales, eviction notices, small claim actions and complaints and tax warrants.
There were 46 firearm permits applied for or renewed through the Sheriff’s office.
Ripley County Jail:
There were 72 prisoners booked into the facility with the most frequent charge being drug related. The total billed to other facilities for housing in March was $24,465.00.
Ripley County Deputies and Jail Officers traveled a total of 5,917 miles transporting prisoners to court appointments, doctor’s and dentist appointments and extraditions.
Reserve Officers:
Ripley County Reserve Officers worked 72 hours in March and served 134 civil process notices and 1 warrant.
