Ripley County Sheriff’s report for November activity

 

A report generated by the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office, gives a summary of activity for the month of November.

 

Criminal Cases:

The Ripley County Sheriff’s Office received 41 criminal cases during the month of November.

 

§         Alcohol related offenses- 4

§         Drug related offenses-1                  

§         Misdemeanor/Felony traffic offenses- 5

§         Domestic related offenses- 7

§         Crimes against persons/ property- 27

 

Out of the 41 criminal cases received, 20 were either closed or resulted in arrest and 21 cases remain open, under investigation.

 

Motor Vehicle Accidents:

Deputies investigated a total of 60 motor vehicle accidents. There were 46 property damage accidents, 13 personal injury accidents with 20 people being injured and one fatality.

 

Civil Process Service:

A total of 30 warrants and 214 civil process papers were served during the month of November.  They include subpoenas, summons, notifications of Sheriff’s Sales, eviction notices, small claim actions and complaints and tax warrants. 

There were 45 firearm permits applied for or renewed through the Sheriff’s office.

 

Ripley County Jail:

There were 74 prisoners booked into the facility with the most frequent charge being Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated.  An average of 5 prisoners per day were on home incarceration. The total billed to other facilities for housing in November was $50,950.00.

Ripley County Deputies and Jail Officers traveled a total of 2,803 miles transporting prisoners to court appointments, doctor’s and dentist appointments and extraditions. 

         

 Reserve Officers:

Ripley County Reserve Officers worked 241.5 hours during the month of November.  Reserve officers served 70 civil process notices and 4 warrants. They also worked 4 property damage accidents.
