Ripley County Sheriff’s report for June activity

 

A report generated by the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office, gives a summary of activity for June.

 

Criminal Cases:

The Ripley County Sheriff’s Office received 46 criminal cases during June.

 

§         Alcohol related offenses- 9

§         Drug related offenses-0                  

§         Misdemeanor/Felony traffic offenses- 3

§         Juvenile Related Offenses- 2

§         Domestic related offenses- 7

§         Crimes against persons/ property- 28

 

Out of the 46 criminal cases received, 16 were either closed or resulted in arrest and 30 cases remain open, under investigation.  The most frequent charge for June was Theft.

 

Motor Vehicle Accidents:

Deputies investigated a total of 29 motor vehicle accidents. There were 21 property damage accidents, 5 personal injury accidents with 8 people being injured. The most frequent cause of accidents was animal in the roadway.

 

Civil Process Service:

A total of 20 warrants and 280 civil process papers were served during June.  They include subpoenas, summons, notifications of Sheriff’s Sales, eviction notices, small claim actions and complaints and tax warrants. 

There were 16 firearm permits applied for or renewed through the Sheriff’s office.

 

Ripley County Jail:

There were 65 prisoners booked into the facility with the most frequent charge being Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated.  An average of 2 prisoners per day were on home incarceration. The total billed to other facilities for housing in June was $31,380.00.

Ripley County Deputies and Jail Officers traveled a total of 2,148 miles transporting prisoners to court appointments, doctor’s and dentist appointments and extraditions. 

         

Reserve Officers:

Ripley County Reserve Officers worked 232 hours during June.  Reserve officers served 130 civil process notices and one warrant.   These officers also worked 6 property damage accidents and 2 person injury accidents.
