What should I do with the protective order once I obtain it?

Make several copies of the protective order.  You should keep a copy with you at all times and keep a copy in other locations such as your car, your home, your childcare provider, your workplace, and a friend's or relative's house.  Follow up with the court to make sure the abuser is served.  Indiana law requires only that the abuser receive a copy of the order; personal service is not required.
