How do I get a protective order?

You must file a "petition" with the court.  You may seek a protective order by contacting your local prosecutor's office or county clerk to obtain a petition.  Standard forms are provided and the clerk's office must provide clerical assistance.  The forms are also available at: http://www.in.gov/judiciary/forms/po.html

You do not need an attorney to file the petition, and no fee is required.
