Unapproved Commissioner's Meeting Minutes for 12/04/2006

December 4, 2006

The Ripley County Commissioners met on Monday, December 4th, 2006 at the Ripley County Annex, Versailles , Indiana .

Commissioner Reiners promptly called the meeting to order at 8:00A.M.  All stood for the opening pledge to the flag.

 Robert Reiners, Chuck Folz and Lawrence Nickell were in attendance.

Mary Ann McCoy, Ripley County Auditor took minutes for the commissioners.

Neil Comer, County Attorney was present to advise the commissioners on legal matters.

Johnnie Lohrum, Maintenance presented estimates to the commissioners on the electric for the courthouse hall and offices. Lohrum updated the commissioners on other work that he is working for the county.

Commissioner Folz made a motion to accept the minutes as presented for November 20th, 2006 seconded by Commissioner Nickell. Motion approved unanimously.

Tad Brinson, Area Planning Commission and Steve Meyer, Building Inspector advised the commissioners that they are planning a surprise retirement party for either the 19th or 12th of December.

Commissioner Nickell made a motion to go ahead with the electric work in the court house (Electrical plugs for different floors of the courthouse due to over loaded plugs) seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.

Commissioner Folz made a motion to purchase blinds for the Auditor’s Office at a cost of $546 seconded by Commissioner Nickell. Motion approved unanimously.

Assessor Bushhorn asked the commissioners to fix the lock on her office door. Commissioner Nickell advised that he had talked to Lohrum and he will fix the door.

Kelly Vollet, Technology Director advised the commissioners that we would be having a Technology meeting Tuesday, 12th of December, 2006. Vollet also advised the commissioners that she had equipment to put on the sheriff sale.

Kenneth Hylton presented the commissioners with some back ground and advised the commissioners that he is interested in Andy Clark’s job as Veteran’s Service Officer for Ripley County . Commissioner Nickell made a motion to appoint Kenneth Hylton as the new Veteran’s Service Officer effective January 1st. 2007 seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.

Commissioner President Reiners signed the Certification of Accessibility for the Hoosier Hills Water Extension (North Johnson).

Ted Spurlock, Economic Development presented a slate of officers for the new Ripley County Redevelopment Commission/TIF board. Commissioner Folz made a motion to appoint the following for the Ripley County Redevelopment Commission (only) Jeff Volz, Town of Osgood , Sue Meisberger, Town of Versailles , Ted Spurlock, Ripley County , Barry Lauber, Town of Holton and Denessa Benkie, Town of Napoleon seconded by commissioner Nickell. Motion approved unanimously.

 

 

Dave Batta, St. Nicholas Church advised the commissioners that the easement papers have been recorded. Commissioners advised that the new road will need to be put in within 1 year, at their expense and will need to be maintained for 1 year. At that time the County will vacate the road. Commissioner Nickell made a motion to accept the easement, they will put the new road in at their expense and maintain for 1 year seconded by commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.

Commissioners advise Andy Clark that they had appointed Kenneth Hylton as the new Veteran’s Service Officer effective January 1st, 2007.

Q.P.I updated the commissioners on work that is needed to be done in the courthouse.

Scott Huffman, EMS Director updated the commissioners on the EMS .

Commissioner Nickell made a motion to adjourn until the next regular meeting on Monday, December 18th, 2006 @ 8:00 AM at the Ripley County Annex, Versailles , Indiana seconded by Commissioner Folz.
