The Ripley County Commissioners opened their meeting promptly at 7:00AM on Monday, December 1st, 2008 at the Ripley County Highway Department, Osgood, Indiana.

Meeting called to order promptly at 7:00AM with Robert Reiners, Chuck Folz and Lawrence Nickell in attendance. Auditor McCoy was not in attendance.

Commissioners discussed applying for a grant to get a new piece of equipment to clean out the plugged culvers pipes and also discussed the roads at the new Versailles Industrial Park.

Commissioners recessed to the Ripley County Annex, Versailles, In. for the rest of the Commissioners meeting.

Commissioners opened the recessed meeting from the Ripley County Highway Department promptly at 8:00AM, Monday, December 1^st, 2008 at the Ripley County Annex, Versailles, In. with the pledge of allegiance.

Commissioners and Auditor were all present for the meeting at the Ripley County Annex.

John Lohrum reported that QPH had checked the heaters in the commissioners room and set the thermostats.

Ken Helton, Veteran Officer advised the Commissioners that he is cleaning out the office and will be doing some painting.

Kelly Vollet, Technology recommended that the Commissioners help pay for two (2) Computers for the Assessor’s Office. Commissioner Folz made a motion to authorize the purchase of two (2) computers for the Assessor’s Office seconded by Commissioner Nickell. Motion approved unanimously.

Shawna Bushhorn, Ripley County Assessor advised the Commissioners that she needs more room to work in and needs another desk. Bushhorn advised the Commissioners that she may need to trade offices the first of the year.

Commissioner Folz made a motion to go with the answering system with Verizon for the Highway Department seconded by Commissioner Nickell. Motion approved unanimously.

Commissioner Reiners advised that the County Health Insurance is going up 4% for 2009 at a cost of approximately $45,000.

Commissioner Folz made a motion to approve the November 17^th, 2008 Commissioner minutes as corrected seconded by Commissioner Nickell. Motion approved unanimously.

Brad Samples, Mainsource Insurance presented the quote for the renewal for the General Liability package for 2009 at a cost of less than $25,000 from 2008. Commissioner Folz made a motion to approve the Downey Inc./ General Liability renewal package for 2009 for Ripley County seconded by Commissioner Nickell. Motion approved unanimously.

Prenta Cochran presented the Commissioners with information on the phone billing. Commissioner Nickell made a motion to go with Verizon Wireless/Governmental Program seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously. Commissioners signed the authorizations for PC Recovery System to act on behalf of Ripley County for all matters concerning our telecommunications facilities and systems to SEI.

Commissioners will bid the 30,000 more or less for #9 surfaces on December 29^th, 2008 at 10:00AM at the Commissioners Room, Ripley County Annex, Versailles, In., this is due to being omitted from the bids on December 15^th, 2008.

Commissioner Folz made a motion to approve the daytime hours for the Commissioner meeting schedule for 2009 will start at 7:00AM at the County Highway Garage/8:00AM Commissioners Room, Ripley County Annex, Versailles, Indiana seconded by Commissioner Nickell. Motion approved unanimously.

Commissioner Folz made a motion to approve the payroll schedule/payroll vouchers for 2009 seconded by Commissioner Nickell. Motion approved unanimously.

Commissioner Folz made a motion to approve the Ripley County Holiday Schedule for 2009 seconded by Commissioner Nickell. Motion approved unanimously.
