Unapproved Commissioner's Meeting Minutes for November 5, 2007
November 5, 2007
The Ripley County Commissioners met on Monday, November 5th, 2007 at the Ripley County Annex, Versailles, Indiana.
Commissioner Reiners promptly called the meeting to order at 8:00A.M. All stood for the opening pledge to the flag.
Robert Reiners, Chuck Folz and Lawrence Nickell were in attendance.
Mary Ann McCoy, Ripley County Auditor took minutes for the Commissioners.
Attorney Neil Comer, County Attorney was present to advise the Commissioners on legal matters.
Johnnie Lohrum reported to the Commissioners on the work at the courthouse, heat is now on, corrected the water line at the courthouse and Smith Tree Service is working on the trees at the courthouse.
Tad Brinson, Area Planning Commission had nothing to report and advised the Commissioners that there will be no meeting for the BZA until January 2008.
Kelly Vollet, Technology Director advised the Commissioners that Superior Court’s TV/Player is destroying tapes and is in need of a new one. Commissioner Folz made a motion to approve the purchase of a new TV/player for Judge Morris/Superior Court at a cost of $316.18 from River Boat Equipment Fund seconded by Commissioner Nickell. Motion approved unanimously.
Commissioner Nickell made a motion to approve the Commissioner minutes for October 5th, 2007 seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.
Commissioner Nickell made a motion to approve the Commissioner minutes for October 22nd, 2007 seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.
Jeff French, Ripley County Surveyor and Keith Abbott presented concerns about Base Line Rd. being a dead end road. French advised the Commissioners that the road quits just pass the house. Abbott advised that he had sold the property to this daughter and that the former owner had approached the commissioners about opening the road. Commissioners will meet at the site to look at the road.
John Gaus, Apex updated the Commissioners on the Health Insurance for 2008. Gaus advised that under the current plan we will have a 37% increase in premium with Anthem. Claims for Ripley County started to increase in the latter part of the year. Gaus advised that he will look at the claims in December and compare claims/premium based on the enrollment. Gaus reported that he will also look at Humana Insurance for the County and report back to the Commissioners.
Earline Copeland, Ripley County Treasurer met with the Commissioners concerning the investments for Ripley County.
John Graf reported to the Commissioners that he is waiting for the State to close out Bridge #8.
Commissioners will be opening bids on December 17th, 2007 @ 10:00AM in the Ripley County Annex for Gasoline, Diesel Fuel, Crushed Stone, Ready Mix Concrete, Ready Mix Asphalt, Liquid Bituminous, Asphalt Material, Corrugated Culvert and Pre-Engineered Bridges for Ripley County.
Commissioner Reiners signed the Continuing Disability-Physician’s Disability Statement and Sickness Claim Form-Employer’s Disability Statement for June Branson.
Commissioner Reiners signed the Grant Agreement and Receipt between Ohio County and Ripley County.
Commissioner Nickell made a motion to adjourn until the next regular meeting on Monday, November 19th, 2007 @ 8:00A.M. at the Ripley County Annex, Versailles, Indiana seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.
