Commissioner's Meeting Minutes for 10/25/04
October 25, 2004
The Ripley County Board of
Commissioners met on Friday, October 25th, 2004 in the Ripley County Annex,
Versailles
,
Indiana
.
John Little, Commissioner President called the meeting to order promptly at
8:00AM with Commissioners Chuck Folz & Robert Reiners in attendance.
Mary Ann McCoy, Auditor of Ripley County acted as secretary for the Board of
Commissioners.
Neil Comer, Attorney was present to advise the Board on legal matters.
The Board signed the payroll check and claim register for October 25th, 2004.
Bill Davison, Sheriff of Ripley County updated the commissioners on lawsuit
filed in his office.
Judy Schebler, 911 Director updated the commissioners on the new mapping system.
Commissioner Folz made the motion to approve the minutes of October 25th, 2004
as corrected and seconded by Commissioner Reiners. Motion approved unanimously.
Kelly Vollet, Technology Director updated the commissioners with information
about the Health Insurance.
Randall Benjamin approached the commissioners with concerns about the County’s
Handbook. The new Reserve Duty/National Guard Law stated that any employee who
is a member of the Indiana National Guard, is entitled to receive from the
member’s employer a leave of absence from the member’s respective duties in
addition to regular vacation period without loss of time or pay for the time
that the member is on training duties of
the state. The entitlement to a leave of absence without loss of time or pay is
not at the discretion of the member’s employer.
Commissioners will have Attorney Neil Comer check on this matter.
Rebecca Stein appeared in front of the commissioners about building a day care
center in Napoleon/Flood Zone. Commissioners suggested to Stein that she contact
DNR.
Karen McKinley/River Valley Resources/Community Work appeared in front of the
commissioners about the Community Work Program. Commissioners asked that she
show certificate of Insurance to cover workers from River Valley Resource.
Commissioner Folz made a motion to appoint Jerry Vollmer to the Wage Board
seconded by Commissioner Reiners. Motion approved unanimously.
Mike Kramer/Med Ben/Pinnacle Advisory Group Insurance and John Gause / Brian
Ellison Apex Insurance/AIC updated the commissioners on Health Insurance for
2005. Final bids will be accepted on November 22, 2004 regular commissioner’s
meeting.
Commissioner Folz made the motion
to adjourn until the next regular commissioner meeting on Monday, November 8th,
2004 at the Ripley County Annex;
