Unapproved Commissioner's Meeting Minutes for October 22, 2007

The Ripley County Commissioners met on Monday, October 22nd, 2007 at the Ripley County Annex, Versailles, Indiana.
Commissioner Reiners promptly called the meeting to order at 8:00A.M. All stood for the opening pledge to the flag.
Robert Reiners, Chuck Folz and Lawrence Nickell were in attendance.
Mary Ann McCoy, Ripley County Auditor took minutes for the Commissioners.
Attorney Neil Comer, County Attorney was present to advise the Commissioners on legal matters.
Johnnie Lohrum is on vacation this week.
Commissioner Nickell reported that a professional had looked at the trees around the courthouse and that three of the trees are in very bad shape. Nickell also advised that they suggested that we plant small Red Oak Trees behind the old trees. Commissioner will take this under consideration.
Smith Tree Service advised the Commissioner that he has a tree service and would like to present a bid to work on the tree for the county. Commissioners Nickell will work with the Tree Service on this problem.
Kelly Vollet, Technology Director advised the Commissioners that she had a meeting on Tuesday with the Technology Committee and they had agreed that Technology could purchase a new copier from the Office Shop at a cost of approximately $2,300. Commissioner Folz made a motion to approve the purchase of a copier for Technology Department from Cum Cap Equipment at a cost of $2,400 per Technology recommendation seconded by Commissioner Nickell. Motion approved unanimously.
Tad Brinson, Area Planning Commission had nothing to report.
Commissioner Nickell made a motion to approve the Ripley County Park spending limit of $500 from the building maintenance for 2008 seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.
Julie Brancamp, Ripley County Fairgrounds presented new Ripley County Park Community Service Guidelines for Community Service Workers.
Judy Schebler, 911 Coordinator advised the Commissioners that back in 1993 an Ordinance was signed with Ripley County Enhanced 911 Emergency Telephone System with Franklin County. Ripley County Enhanced 911 Emergency Telephone System has provided service to those persons being persons with telephone exchange numbers 934,933,623 and 852. Franklin County Board agreed to give Ripley County $1,200 per month at that time and now Ripley County is not receiving money from Franklin County. Schebler will continue to work on this situation and get back with the Commissioners.
Ray & Barbara Williams, Osgood presented concerns on about 2 mile long length of road (needs paved), culverts that are not marked and 3 ½ foot drop on 725 N (Brownstown Rd). Commissioners will take a look at this situation.
Barry Lauber requested that the Commissioners attend a 1 week long conference for Economic Development. Commissioners will take this under consideration.
Commissioner Nickell made a motion to go with a 1-year contract with Quality Plumbing & Heating, Greensburg, Indiana for the Sheriff Department at a cost of $6,804 seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously. QPH updated the Commissioners on the water link at the courthouse.
Commissioners signed a change order No# 2/Indiana Department of Transportation giving a credit of $823.45.
Commissioner Folz made a motion to refund $50 to James Bloemker, 2036 N. US Highway 421, Osgood, Indiana from County General for his Drainage Board Application Fee seconded by Commissioner Nickell. Motion approved unanimously.
Commissioner Folz made a motion to adjourn until the next regular meeting on Monday, November 5th, 2007 @ 8:00A.M. at the Ripley County Annex, Versailles, Indiana seconded by Commissioner Nickell. Motion approved unanimously.
