Commissioner's Meeting Minutes for 10/08/04
October 8, 2004
The Ripley County Board of
Commissioners met on Friday, October 8th, 2004 in the Ripley County Annex,
Versailles
,
Indiana
.
John Little, Commissioner President called the meeting to order promptly at
8:00AM with Commissioners Chuck Folz & Robert Reiners in attendance.
Mary Ann McCoy, Auditor of Ripley County acted as secretary for the Board of
Commissioners.
John Ertel, Attorney was present to advise the Board on legal matters due to
Neil Comer, Ripley County Attorney absent.
The Board signed the payroll check and claim register for October 8th, 2004.
Commissioner Folz made the motion to approve the minutes of September 27th, 2004
and seconded by Commissioner Reiners. Motion approved unanimously.
John Little, President of Commissioners signed the County Emergency Management
Advisory Council for Jerry Fry, Emergency Management Director.
Greg Doll & Jack Kellerman appeared in front of the commissioners on a
zoning issue from A2 to GB/for a small warehouse for storage of trees.
Commissioner Reiners made the motion to take under advisement (tabled) until the
next meeting second by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.
After a short discussion of the Commissioners/Area Planning Commission
concerning the A2 to GB zoning for Greg Doll. Commissioner Folz made a motion to
take off the table the zoning issue from LB to GB for Greg Doll seconded by
Commissioner Reiners. Motion approved unanimously.
Commissioner Reiners made the motion to approve the zoning from A2 to GB/Greg
Doll /small warehouse for storage of trees seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion
approved unanimously.
Commissioners signed An Ordinance
to Amend the Unified Zoning Ordinance of Ripley County, Indiana for Part of the
N.W. ¼ of the S.W. ¼ Section 26,
Township 10 North, Range 12 East.

updated the commissioners on the progress of the GIS system.
Commissioner Reiners made the motion to extend the 2004 Marathon Ashland
Petroleum LLC /Liquid Asphalt contract bid through December 31, 2005/ due to the
price of crude oil hitting all time highs seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion
approved unanimously.
Commissioner Reiners made the motion to extend the Asphalt Material, Inc./Liquid
Bituminous Asphalt Materials contract bid for 2004 through the year 2005/due to
the all time high for crude oil prices seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion
approved unanimously.
Bill Davison, Ripley County Sheriff asked the Commissioners for permission to
apply for a grant for new vests for the Sheriff’s Department.
David Wrightsman, Energy Systems updated the commissioners on their program.
Karen McKinley, River Valley Resources updated the commissioners on their
Community Work Experience Program for
Ripley
County
.
Darla Westerfeld,
Ripley
County
Park
asked the commissioners for permission to apply for the $2,500 grant from
Rising Sun. Commissioners gave permission for the Park to go ahead and apply for
the grant from Rising Sun.
John Graff advised the commissioners that they should send letters to the
Federal Elected officials and ask for their support in acquiring property from
the Jefferson Proving Ground for construction of
Ripley
County
Bridge
#38.
Commissioner Folz made the motion to appoint Nick Stewart/Mari Tekulve to the
Batesville Municipal Public Library Board second by Commissioner Little. Motion
approved unanimously.
Commissioners signed the Uniform Conflict Of Interest Disclosure Statement for
Nick Stewart & Mari Tekulve.
Commissioner Folz made the motion to adjourn until the next regular commissioner
meeting on Monday, October 25th, 2004 at the Ripley County Annex;
