Unapproved Commissioner's Meeting Minutes for 10/06/06

The Ripley County Commissioners met on Friday, October 6, 2006 at the Ripley County Annex, Versailles, Indiana.
Commissioner Reiners promptly called the meeting to order at 8:00A.M. All stood for the opening pledge to the flag.
Robert Reiners, Chuck Folz and Lawrence Nickell were in attendance.
Mary Ann McCoy, Ripley County Auditor took minutes for the Commissioners.
Neil Comer, County Attorney was not present.
Johnnie Lohrum, Maintenance presented the commissioners with quotes for a new snow blower. Commissioner Nickell made a motion to purchase a new snow blower from Tom’s Lawn and Garden for $700 seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motions approved unanimously.
Commissioner Nickell made a motion to approve the minutes from the commissioners meeting on September 25th, 2006 seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.
Tad Brinson, Area Planning Commission presented An Ordinance to Amend The Unified Zoning Ordinance Of Ripley County on Tanglewood Rd. & 300 N. with a favorable recommendation from the board to rezone Part of the N.W.1/4 of Section 27, Township 8 North, Range 11 East. Center Twp. 2.22 Acres from I-1 Open Industrial to R-1 Residential. Commissioner Folz made a motion to adopt the ordinance to amend the unified zoning ordinance of Ripley County seconded by Commissioner Nickell. Motion approved unanimously.
Brinson also presented An Ordinance To Amend The Area Subdivision Control Code Of Ripley County, Indiana, 1991, As Amended: Section 1: Section 81.061/2 (A) is amended to read as follows: (A) Drafting. All plats submitted shall be prepared or under the supervision of a registered land surveyor in good standing with the State of Indiana and in compliance with the laws of the State of Indiana. All drawings, plats and surveys shall be neat, legible, reproducible, reducible, and drawn on a quality paper capable of being scanned into the records in the Office of the Recorder of Ripley County, Indiana. Section 2: Section 81.061/2 (A) (1) which reads as follows: (1) Material. All plats of subdivisions shall be drawn on Mylar or equivalent material at least 2 mils in thickness. Is hereby amended to read as follows: (1) Size and Signatures. All plats of subdivisions and surveys shall be drawn on a quality paper as described in 81.061/2 (A) and shall be a minimum of eighteen inches (18”) by twenty-four inches (24”) in size and shall bear original signatures. Commissioner Folz made a motion to adopt the ordinance to amend the area subdivision control code of Ripley County seconded by Commissioner Nickell. Motion approved unanimously.

Kelly Vollet, Technology Director asked the commissioners for permission to post all officer holder job duties on the web site for Ripley County. Commissioners granted permission.
Herman Strumpf updated the commissioners on the airport project and advised that he would like to set November 16th, 2006 for the fact finding meeting for Ripley County. Strumpf also advised the commissioners that when he has more information on the water project he would report back.
Robert Demaree, Colonial Insurance introduced Dewey Erwin as the new Colonial Insurance agent for Ripley County. Demaree requested permission to contact the county employee about the Colonial Insurance. Commissioners granted permission and advise that he should contact the Auditor to set a time to see the county employees.
Commissioner Nickell made a motion to adjourn until the next regular meeting on Monday, October 23rdth, 2006 @ 8:00 AM at the Ripley County Annex, Versailles, Indiana seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.
