Commissioner's Meeting Minutes for 09/27/04
September 27, 2004
The Ripley County Board of
Commissioners met on Monday, September 27th, 2004 in the Ripley County Annex,
Versailles
,
Indiana
.
John Little, Commissioner President called the meeting to order promptly at
8:00AM with Commissioners Chuck Folz & Robert Reiners in attendance.
Mary Ann McCoy, Auditor of Ripley County acted as secretary for the Board of
Commissioners.
Neil Comer was present to advise the Board on legal matters.
The Board signed the payroll check and claim register for September 27th, 2004.
Commissioner Reiners made the motion to approve the minutes of September 13th,
2004 and seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.
Kelly Vollet, Technology Director advised the commissioners that the network
equipment had been hit by lighting and that she is working to replace the
equipment. Vollet also advised that they would finish installing the new GIS
system on Tuesday, September 28th, 2004 in the Sheriff, EMA,
Surveyor, Area Planning, Assessor, and Health Department. Training will begin as
soon as they finish installing the system.
John Ertel, Attorney for the county presented the commissioners with an update
on the Ripley County Micro Loan progress (

Kids
Learning
Center
).
Shannon Schmaltz, Probation Department presented concerns about the unbalance of
airflow in the probation offices. Schmaltz advised per Steinhardt Heating and
Air Conditioning that the air is not in balance in the probation offices.
John Little, Commissioner President advised that they will try and do
something about the air conditioning.
Bill Davison, Ripley County Sheriff updated the commissioners on the pumpkin
show.
Earline Copeland, Ripley County Treasurer advised that the courthouse would be
open on Saturday (Oct. 9th) for the collection of taxes.
Andy Clark, Veteran Service Officer with concerns about the memorial monument.
Neil Comer, Ripley County Attorney updated the commissioners about CSX and that
possibly the county will receive a check in a few weeks.
Commissioners signed the Economic Development Income Tax Capital Improvement
Plan (EDIT) for 2005-2006.
Ginger Bradford, Ripley County Circuit Court Clerk advised the commissioners
that the Election Room/Clerk’s Office would be open for absentee voting on
Saturday, Oct. 23rd & 30th from 8:00AM to 3:00PM.
Ralph Patton, Culvert Plus updated the commissioners on the Bridge#100 project.
Katherine Taul, Ripley County Tourism Bureau advised the commissioners that the
16th Bluegrass Festival will be at the
Versailles
State Park
Oct. 2nd & 3rd, 2004.
Commissioner Reiners made the motion to adjourn until the next regular
commissioner meeting on Monday, October 8th, 2004 at the Ripley County Annex;
