Commissioner's Meeting Minutes for September 4, 2009

September 4, 2009
Commissioners meeting opened Friday, September 04, 2009 at the Ripley County Annex, Versailles, In. promptly at 8:00AM with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Commissioner Robert Reiners, Gary Stutler and Mark Busching were all in attendance at the Ripley County Annex for the Commissioners meeting.
Auditor McCoy was present for the meeting at the Ripley County Annex and County Attorney Neil Comer was present to answer legal questions.
John Lohrum, Ripley County Maintenance advised the Commissioners that McKrittrick Construction would be looking at the clock in the Courthouse Tower. Commissioners gave Lohrum permission to purchase a plastic table for the Courthouse. Lohrum advised that Sam Byard will repair the sidewalk at the Courthouse before the Pumpkin Show.
Kelly Vollet, Technology Director advised the Commissioners that there is a refund with the Office Shop and would like to apply it to the new chairs for Superior Court. Commissioners agreed to the refund being used for the chairs for Superior Court. Vollet advised that the 2010 Census could be done by Tad Brinson, Area Planning Commission due to permit for new homes being filed in Area Planning. Commissioner Stutler made a motion to appoint Tad Brinson as the liaison for the 2010 Census seconded by Commissioner Busching. Motion approved unanimously.
Amy Copeland, Deputy Treasurer presented the Commissioners with a proposal to collect delinquent Personal Property for Ripley County from American Financial Credit Service. Copeland advised the Commissioners that delinquent Personal Properties Taxes is in the amount of $465,000. Commissioner Busching made a motion to sign the contract with AFC/American Financial Credit Service to collect delinquent Personal Property Taxes for Ripley County seconded by Commissioner Stutler. Motion approved unanimously.
Julie Brancramp, Park & Recreation presented quotes from the following for the roof replacement of building #10 at the Ripley County Fairgrounds:

Commissioners will look at the bids and make a decision at a later date.
Commissioner Busching made a motion for the County Highway Garage to go back to 5 (Five) 8 hr days on September 21st, 2009 seconded by Commissioner Stutler. Motion approved unanimously.
Commissioner Busching advised that he would like to change the courthouse hours from the current 8:00AM / 4:00PM to either 8:00AM/4:30PM with ½ hour for lunch or 7:30AM/4:30PM with 1 hour for lunch or 8:00AM/5:00PM.
Commissioner Reiners presented concerns about kids getting off the school bus after school and staying in a courthouse office till closing time.
Commissioner Busching made a motion to approve the plans for Bridge #72 and advertise the bid date of September 21st, 2009 @ 10:00AM seconded by Commissioner Stutler. Motion approved unanimously.
Commissioner Busching made a motion to adjourn the Commissioners Meeting until the next meet on Monday, September 21st, 2009 @ 7:00AM at the Ripley County Highway Garage, Osgood, Indiana seconded by Commissioner Stutler. Motion approved unanimously.
