Commissioner's Meeting Minutes for 08/30/04
August 30, 2004
The Ripley County Board of Commissioners met on Monday,
August 30, 2004 in the Auditor’s Office,
Versailles
,
Indiana
.
John Little, Commissioner President called the meeting to order at 8:00 A.M.
with Commissioners Chuck Folz and Robert Reiners in attendance.
Elaine L. Mortara, Auditor first deputy acted as secretary for the board of
commissioners, due to Mary Ann McCoy, Auditor of Ripley County being in Budget
Hearings.
Neil Comer was present to advise the Board on legal matters.
The Board signed the payroll check register and claim register for August 30,
2004.
Commissioner Folz made the motion to approve the minutes of August 16, 2004 and
seconded by Commissioner Reiners. Motion approved unanimously.
Gene Bishop reported the air conditioner was in good working order. Commissioner
Little is going to call Steinhardts and request a bill, so the insurance claim
could be paid. Gene Bishop is going
to check with Pat Thomas in purchasing smoking stands from the Tobacco Fund.
Kelly Vollet, Technology Director updated the commissioners on the Indiana Rural
Regional Grant Procedure for the parcel layer of the GIS system. The procedure
is to be completed in two years.
Ripley
County
is to match dollars at 25% or $25,000 per year for 2 years. Commissioner Reiners made the motion to
give a GIS license to Economic Development, if successful in receiving the
grant, and Commissioner Folz seconded the motion. Motion approved unanimously.
Becky Reatherford, Soil and Water asked the board to consider insuring their
equipment and office contents, under the liability insurance. The State will not
carry the insurance on Soil and Water after October 1, 2004. Neil Comer,
attorney will check and see what this falls under.
Mary McCarthy asked the Commissioners to sign a letter of support for a new fire
truck for the Town of
Holton
and
Otter
Creek
Township
.
Opening bids for the roof was presented. Joe Bohman presented the only bid.
Commissioner Reiners made the motion to reject all bids until spring and
Commissioner Folz seconded motion. Motion approved unanimously.
John
Graf presented the commissioners with new bridge books.
President Little signed the Grant Agreement and Receipt between Rising Sun and
Ripley
County
.
Commissioner Reiners made the motion to pay the ad on the previous dog warden
and Commissioner Folz seconded motion. Motion approved unanimously.
Commissioner Reiners made the motion to adjourn until the next commissioner
meeting on Monday, September 13, 2004. Commissioner Folz second motion. Motion
approved unanimously.
