Commissioner's Meeting Minutes for 08/02/04
August 2, 2004
The Ripley County Board of
Commissioners met on Monday, August 2nd, 2004 in the Ripley County Annex,
Versailles, Indiana.
John Little, Commissioner President called the meeting to order promptly at
8:00AM with Commissioners Chuck Folz & Robert Reiners in attendance.
Mary Ann McCoy, Auditor of Ripley County acted as secretary for the board of
commissioners.
Neil Comer was present to advise the Board on legal matters.
The Board signed the payroll check register and claim register for August 2nd.
2004.
Commissioner Reiners made the motion to approve the minutes of July 19th
and seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.
Kelly Vollet, Technology Director updated the commissioners on the work she is
doing on the health insurance.
Tab Brinson, Area Planning Commission presented an amended ordinance Repealing
Section 80.15 (A) (6) (j) and Deleting Advertising Sign or Billboards as a
Permitted Use in the local Business Zone Of The Area Zone Code Of Ripley County,
Indiana. Commissioner Folz made the motion to approve the amended ordinance
seconded by Commissioner Reiners. Motion
approved unanimously.
Gary Ladd/Engineer for City Batesville & Randall Gibbs Batesville Water
Waste presented an agreement for Attorney Comer to check over before the
commissioners sign the agreement.
Commissioners signed the agreement for replacement of Bridge #38 over Big Creek
on Old Michigan Road presented by John Graf, Barth & Associates, Inc.
Project will include approach realignment, drainage structures and channel work
necessary to replace Bridge#38.
Commissioner Reiners made a motion to proceed with soil boring for Bridge # 100
Coon hunters Road, Batesville seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved
unanimously.
Commissioner Little signed the Proposal for Professional Services/ Geotechnical
Evaluation/CR 300E over
Mollenkramer Reservoir in Ripley County, Indiana.
Commissioner Reiners will attend the Town of Sunman meeting August 5th,
Thursday afternoon at the Town Hall, Sunman, Indiana.
John Ertel, Attorney updated the commissioners on the progress of the Micro Loan
Program. Commissioners suggested that Attorney Ertel continue working on the
Micro Loan program and the process of paying back the loan to Ripley County.
Von McGuire presented documentation on reconstructing the Rest Park on County
Road 525 East. McGuire will bring
back to the next meeting, documentation for the commissioners to sign.
Commissioners requested that the pond would be 100ft from the road.
Deputy Sheriff Pippin updated the commissioners on the tornado that went through
Ripley County and the quick evaluation of the Ripley County Fairgrounds.
Gene Bishop presented the commissioners with a bill from Steinhart for the
air-conditioning, it is to be presented to the insurance company.
Jerry Fry, Emergency Management updated the commissioners on the tornado damage
at Holton, Indiana. Fry advised that the damage was approximately $465,000 to
the Town of Holton and he is working on trying to get some relief for the
damaged area.
Andy Clark, Veterans Administrator presented 2 van quotes to the commissioners.
Commissioners advised Mr. Clark that probation would lend the probation’s van
to the veteran’s office with a 2-day notice.
Scott Melling, EMS Director presented the commissioners with the Ripley County
EMS System Evaluation & Recommendation and updated the commissioners on the
billing issues.
Auditor McCoy presented the commissioners with copies of the budgets presented
to the council for year 2005.
Commissioners will make
their recommendation to the council
for the salary raise for 2005, per the Indiana code.
Commissioner Folz made the motion to adjourn until the next meeting on August
16th, 2004 @ 8:00 AM, in the Ripley County Annex, Versailles, Indiana seconded
by Commissioner Reiners. Motion approved unanimously.
