Unapproved Commissioner's Meeting Minutes for 07/19/04

July 19, 2004

The Ripley County Board of Commissioners met on Monday, July 19th, 2004 in the Ripley County Annex, Versailles , Indiana .

  John Little, Commissioner President called the meeting to order promptly at 8:00AM with Commissioners Chuck Folz & Robert Reiners in attendance.

Mary Ann McCoy, Auditor of Ripley County acted as secretary for the board of commissioners.

Neil Comer was present to advise the Board on legal matters.

The Board signed the payroll check register and claim register for July 19th, 2004.

Commissioner Reiners made the motion to pay over to Economic Development the sum equal to twelve (12%) of the EDIT Funds disbursed from the state of Indiana in the year 2005 seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.

Andy Clark, Veteran Director advised the commissioners that he is still in need of a Van/Car for Veteran use for transportation of veterans in the county. Commissioners recommended that he go to the council for match dollars for $25,000 grant for a Van/Car.

Kelly Vollet, Technology Director updated the commissioners on research made on health insurance from the state of Indiana . Vollet & Commissioner Reiners is working with the Regional Foundation on a Rural Regional Partnership Program grant to provide for the establishment of new regional rural development groups and operation of existing regional rural development groups through the funding of organizational capacity building projects (telecommunication needs in a rural area). Economic Development Foundation / Ripley County to be linked together for another level of the GIS System.

Ted Brinson, Planning Commission had nothing to report.

Ralph Jones, Rescue 30 appeared in front of the commissioners with concerns about the billing progress with EMS . Jones advised that they are about 6 months behind on payments and that they couldn’t go on like it is at the present time.

Pam Sanders, Economic Development Director & Mark Fledderman, Economic Development Board Member updated the commissioners on the development in Ripley County .  Project list was presented to the Commissioners on Ripley County . Pam reported that there would be a meeting on Wed, 21^st of July with Thomas Miller & Associates to analyze economic value of the county.

Scott Melling, EMS Director & Ralph Jones, Rescue 30 updated the Commissioners on billing issues concerning the units in Ripley County . Jones advised that Rescue 30 is in need of money to continue to do their runs for the next 6 months. Melling advised that the current problem is the Media Care/Federal Government problem.  

Commissioners signed the Bridge # 100/ County Road 300E over Mollen-Kramer Reservoir Consultant Agreement for Professional Services presented by John Graf, Barth & Associates. Graf also updated the commissioners on the condition of Bridge # 89, Bridge #38, Bridge #128 & Bridge # 97.

             Commissioner Little signed the Indiana Department of Transportation LPA Claim Voucher.

            Commissioners signed a quitclaim Deed for the property/George P Sims Lots 128 & 129 to Paul & Melanie Hartman, 13591 N Delaware             Rd , 260 Volz St. , Batesville , Indiana .

Mary Salyers South Old Michigan Road , Holton , Indiana appeared in front of the commissioners with concerns about a ditch that was not deep enough. Commissioners will check on this problem.

Commissioner Folz made the motion to adjourn until the next meeting on August 2nd, 2004 @ 8:00 AM, in the Ripley County Annex, Versailles , Indiana seconded by Commissioner Reiners. Motion approved unanimously.
