Commissioner's Meeting Minutes for June 15, 2009

June 15, 2009
The Ripley County Commissioners opened their meeting promptly at 7:00AM, Monday, June 15th, 2009 at the Ripley County Highway Department, Osgood, Indiana.
Meeting was called to order promptly at 7:00AM with Robert Reiners, Gary Stutler and Mark Busching in attendance at the Highway Department.
Mary Ann McCoy, Ripley County Auditor also was present for the meeting at the Highway Department.
Superintendent Owen Heaton advised the Commissioners that Asphalt Material quote stayed the same, Terry Material was $1.65/RS2 & AE90 & that Marathon didn’t call back with a bid.
Superintendent Owen Heaton advised the Commissioners that Ripley County will receive $65,000, $26,000 & $7,000 from FEMA.
Donald Dunbar reported that there is about 8/10 dead trees at the fairground and are in need of being cut. Commissioner Busching made a motion to take cutting the trees at the Fairgrounds under advisement and will discuss further at the Commissioner’s meeting seconded by Commissioner Stutler. Motion approved unanimously.
Superintendent Owen Heaton reported that they had asked for three quotes and had only received two for the presser washing and painting of the Highway Garage. Larry Corhran quote was $12,500 and Clayton Painting & Staining quote was $15,500. Commissioner Busching made a motion to accept the quote of $12,500 from Larry Corhran for painting of the Ripley County Highway Garage seconded by Commissioner Stutler. Motion approved unanimously.
Superintendent Owen Heaton reported that he had been contacted by the Osgood Grub Company about the cable end from the Busching Bridge. Commissioner Busching made a motion to put the cable end off the Busching Bridge on the online auction seconded by Commissioner Stutler. Motion approved unanimously.
Commissioner Busching made a motion to recess to the Ripley County Annex, Versailles, In. for the rest of the Commissioners meeting, seconded by Commissioner Stutler. Motion approved unanimously.
Commissioner Stutler made a motion to reconvene the Commissioners meeting from the Ripley County Highway Department, Monday, June 15th, 2009 at the Ripley County Annex, Versailles, In. promptly at 8:00AM with the Pledge of Allegiance seconded by Commissioner Busching. Motion approved unanimously.
Commissioner Robert Reiners, Gary Stutler and Mark Busching were all in attendance at the Ripley County Annex for the rest of the Commissioners meeting.
Auditor McCoy was present for the meeting at the Ripley County Annex and County Attorney Neil Comer was present to answer legal questions.
Commissioner Busching made a motion to get three quotes on taking down the trees (deemed necessary) & removal of the stumps at the Ripley County Fairgrounds/Park seconded by Commissioner Stutler. Motion approved unanimously.
John Lohrum, Ripley County Maintenance advised the Commissioners that he had gotten a quote on the clock to correct the linking $14,686 and a quote of $34,721 for courthouse windows & sealing of courthouse brick from Atlas.
Commissioner Busching made a motion to accept the quote from Hughes to trim the trees around the courthouse (see if they could be done by this Thursday) seconded by Commissioner Stutler. Motion approved unanimously.
Commissioner Stutler requested that Lohrum get in contact with Julie Brancamp and get a quote from Hughes to trim the trees at the Ripley County Park.
Kelly Vollet, Technology Director advised the Commissioner that they needs to put the Blue River Phone system maintenance contract of $6,900 in the Cum Cap Budget. Vollet advise that CASA has moved and requested that Christy Patrick, Annex Maintenance move the cleaning supplies to the CASA Room.
Commissioner Busching made a motion to approve the minutes as presented seconded by Commissioners Stutler. Motion approved unanimously.
Ron Buchanan, Ripley County Coroner advised the Commissioners that he would like to start billing counties for cost of autopsies. June 1st the cost of autopsies is going up $250 from $1,000 to $1250 and establish fees for autopsies reports at $25/ pictures $30 and $30 to testify in court.
Commissioner Stutler made a motion to accept the bid from Terry Material for RS-2 $1.6500 and AE-90 $1.6500 per gallon seconded by Commissioners Busching. Motion approved unanimously.
Prentra Cochran, PC Recovery Systems updated the Commissioners on invoices that had been sent to the Auditor’s Office. Commissioners requested that the invoices be a clearer on what is being charged to Ripley County.
Commissioner Busching made a motion to recess to the Ripley County Highway Department to go over budget for 2010.
Commissioners will meet on Monday, June 29th @ 7:00AM at the Ripley County Highway Garage, Osgood, Indiana.
