Commissioner's Meeting Minutes for 06/07/04

Commissioners met on
Monday June 7th, 2004
in the Ripley County Annex,
Versailles
,
Indiana
.
John Little, Commissioner President called the meeting to order promptly at
8:00AM with Commissioners Chuck Folz & Robert Reiners in attendance.
Mary Ann McCoy, Auditor of Ripley County acted as secretary for the board of
commissioners.
Neil Comer was present to advise the Board on legal matters.
The Board signed the payroll check register and claim register for
June 7th, 2004
.
Commissioner Reiners made the motion to change Part of the SE ¼ Section 32,
Township 10 North, Range 13 East. Adams Twp. 1.0530 Acres from the existing R-3
to L-B seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.
Commissioner Reiners made the motion to deny the change to Part of the S. W.
¼ Section 26, Township 10 North, Range 12 East. Adams Twp. 4.83 Acres
seconded by Commissioners Folz. Motion approved unanimously.
Kelly Vollet, Technology introduced Shawn Lack to the commissioners and advised
that he would be working in her office for the next 6/8 weeks. Vollet advised
the commissioners that there is some confusion about the wording of the vacation
time in the County Hand Book.
Commissioner Reiners made the motion to appoint Jim Lovins,

seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.
Commissioners updated Lovins on the rules and relations of the dog warden
job.
Carl Moore, Lifetime Resources reported to the commissioners on the fiscal year
2004 report on dollars and units.
Moore
reported that the projection for the full year is 72,794 units at a 10%
increase over the Fiscal year 2003. Commissioner Reiners made the motion to send
a favorable recommendation to the council for the year of 2005 support of
$28,000 seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.
Scott Stirn, Hoosier Hills Regional Water District (Johnson Township North water
line extension) appeared in front of the commissioners and asked for support of
the CFF Grant. Commissioner Reiners made the motion to support Hoosier Hills
Regional Water District for the Community Focus Fund Grant /Johnson Township
North (water line extension)
seconded by Commissioner Little. Motion approved by

John Graf, Howard Barth & Associates reported to the commissioners on the
bridge inspection for
Ripley
County
. Graf reported that Bridge # 70 (650 N) needs some attention and Bridge #64
(300N) needs new deck Bridge # 84 (Co
Rd 150 N 475 E) needs to be totally redone, Bridge # 89 needs some repairs.
Jerry Vollmer, Mainsource Insurance appeared in front of the commissioners to
check to see if the county had any problems and concerns with the insurance.
Owen Menchhofer appeared in front of the commissioners with concerns about the (
Rail to Trails) railroad a track that is connected to their property. Menchhofer
ask that the county returns the property (railroad tracks) to the owner and that
Allen Crossing is taken out. Commissioners will take this under consideration if
the railroad tracks are closed.
Ginger Bradford, Clerk, Circuit Court appeared in front of the commissioners
with concerns about the heat/air conditioning in the courthouse. Commissioners
advised that the air should be up and running in a few days.
Bill Davison,
Sheriff
Ripley
County
with concerns about the medical expense for 2005 and commissioners advised that
they would leave it up to the sheriff to look for someone to service the jail at
a lower price.
Commissioner Folz made the motion to approve the minutes as corrected seconded
by Commissioner Reiners. Motion approved unanimously.
Commissioner Folz made the motion to let the Versailles Lions Club use the
Courthouse yard/restrooms for their annual Chicken Dinner,

seconded by Commissioner Reiners. Motion approved unanimously.

Commissioners signed letters to INDOT Local Transportation concerning
Busching
Covered Bridge
#46 per AECON, Inc. supervisor of the project.
Commissioners signed Permission To Place Historic Marker/Ripley County (Indiana)
Historical Society on the property at South Side CR 800 S at junction of US 421.
Commissioner Reiners made the motion to adjourn until the next meeting on
June 21st, 2004
