Unapproved Commissioner's Meeting Minutes for 05/07/2007
May 7, 2007
The Ripley County Commissioners met on Monday, May 7th, 2007 at the Ripley County Annex, Versailles, Indiana.
Commissioner Reiners promptly called the meeting to order at 8:00A.M. All stood for the opening pledge to the flag.
Robert Reiners, Chuck Folz and Lawrence Nickell were in attendance.
Mary Ann McCoy, Ripley County Auditor took minutes for the Commissioners.
Neil Comer, County Attorney was present to advise the Commissioners on legal matters.
John Lohrum, Maintenance advised the Commissioners that they would be replacing windows that are broken in the courthouse this week.
Kelly Vollet, Technology, Dave Osborne, Extension and the Office Shop presented Commissioners with a quote for a new copier for the Extension Office of $6,540.80/ 35 copies per minute included in quote is a maintenance agreement. Osborne advised the commissioners that Purdue will not help pay for the copier. Technology committee has recommended that this be taken from Riverboat Equipment. Commissioner Folz made a motion to approve the purchase of a copier for the Extension Office at a cost of $6,540.80 including the maintenance agreement from Riverboat equipment seconded by Commissioner Nickell. Motion approved unanimously.
Tad Brinson, Area Planning Commission advised the commissioners that the assistant building inspector is in need of a cell phone for his work. Commissioners will contact Vollet, Technology Director about this matter. Steve Myer, Building Inspector reported to commissioners on buildings at the Friendship Shoot.
Kelly Vollet, Technology Director advised the commissioners that she had a quote for a new Dell computer for the Veteran’s Office at a cost of $923.68. Commissioner Nickell made a motion to approve the purchase of a new Dell computer for the Veteran’s Office at a cost of $923.68 seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously. Commissioners advised Vollet that they have no problem with Area Planning Commission getting a new cell phone for the assistant building inspector.
Mike Jeffries, Assistant Building Inspector advised the commissioners that he is waiting for a release from the state for the cabin at the bow range.
Commissioner Nickell made a motion to approve the minutes for the April 23rd, 2007 commissioner minutes seconded by commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.
Commissioner Nickell made a motion to approve the claims seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.
Linda Sanders, Wessler Associates updated the commissioners on their company as an employee owned professional consulting firm dedicated to providing the highest-quality Surveying and Engineering.
Scott Huffman, EMS Director updated the commissioners on the progress of the EMS.
Kerry Langdon, Engel Maps and Katherine Taul, Tourism Director presented a copy of the new book map covers and map contents for the Commissioners to review.
Neil Comer, Ripley County Attorney presented a copy of an Ordinance/Authorization for Police Reserve Officers for the Ripley County Sheriff Department. Commissioner Folz made a motion to adopt the Ordinance of Ripley County/Authorization for Police Reserve Officers seconded by Commissioner Nickell. Motion approved unanimously.
Commissioner Folz made a motion to adjourn until the next regular meeting on Monday, May 21st, 2007 @ 8:00A.M. at the Ripley County Annex, Versailles, Indiana seconded by Commissioner Nickell. Motion approved unanimously.
