Unapproved Commissioner's Meeting Minutes for April 21, 2008
April 21, 2008
The Ripley County Commissioners met on Monday, April 21st, 2008 at the Ripley County Annex, Versailles, Indiana.
Commissioner Reiners promptly called the meeting to order at 8:00A.M. All stood for the opening pledge to the flag.
Robert Reiners, Chuck Folz and Lawrence Nickell were in attendance.
Mary Ann McCoy, Ripley County Auditor took minutes for the Commissioners.
Neil Comer, County Attorney, was present to advise the Commissioners on legal matters.
Johnnie Lohrum, Maintenance updated the Commissioners on the drinking fountain on the third floor of the courthouse. OPH sent quotes to replace hydraulic pressure regulators and install/test backflow, replace drinking fountain on third floor and replace thermostat on McQuay unit ventilator. Lohrum also advised that he waiting on another quotes for the courthouse doors from Tom Heidt and others.
Kelly Vollet, Technology was on vacation.
Commissioner Nickell made a motion to appoint Christy Russell to the Annex housekeeping job effective 4/21/2008 seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.
Commissioner Nickell made a motion to go with QPH for the water fountain, pressure regulators and thermostat seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.
Commissioner Nickell made a motion to approve the corrected minutes for April 7th, 2008 seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.
Tad Brinson, Area Planning Commission updated the Commissioners on the Building Inspector and the Clerical position.
Commissioner Folz made a motion to hire Manthron to do the parcel numbers corrections for Ripley County seconded by Commissioner Nickell. Motion approved unanimously.
Ginger Bradford, Clerk updated the Commissioners on the public testing of the voting machines. Bradford advised that one machine went down and was replaced with a used machine at a cost of $3,834.55 from GBS. Commissioner Folz made a motion to approve the payment of $3,834.55 from Governmental Business Systems for the repair of an election voting machine seconded by Commissioner Nickell. Motion approved unanimously.
Commissioner Nickell made a motion to approve the payment for a new cot for the Coroner/Ron Buchanan from Cum Cap seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.
Dave Osborne, Extension presented a quote to the Commissioner for new carpet at the Extension Office from GB Carpets for $4,516.20.
Mike Stratton, Historical Society asked if the Commissioners and the Highway could help with putting up new Historical Markers. Commissioners agreed to put up the signs as long as all the places are correctly marked.
John Graf updated the Commissioners on the new Federal Rules.
Commissioner Nickell made a motion to cement the Commercial Building at the Fairgrounds from Cum Cap for $5,846 seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.
Commissioner Nickell made a motion to adjourn until the next Ripley County Commissioner’s Meeting on Monday, May 5th, 2008 @ 8:00AM in the Ripley County Annex, Versailles, Indiana seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.
