Unapproved Commissioner's Meeting Minutes for 03/28/05
March 28, 2005
The Ripley County Board of Commissioners met on Monday, March 28th, 2005 at the Ripley County Annex, Versailles, Indiana.
Commissioner Reiners promptly called the meeting to order at 8:00 AM and all stood for the opening pledge allegiance to flag. Commissioner Reiners, Chuck Folz and Lawrence Nickell were in attendance for the meeting.
Mary Ann McCoy, Auditor of Ripley County acted as secretary for the Board of Commissioners.
Neil Comer, Attorney was present to advise the Board on legal matters.
The Board signed the payroll check and claim register for March 28th, 2005.
Jim Lovins, DogCatcher had questions concerning why taxes had not been taken out of his check. Auditor McCoy will check on this and get back to the commissioners.
Gene Bishop, Maintenance updated the commissioners on the work that is being done in the Assessor & Auditor’s Offices. Also advised that he is checking on new vents for the first floor of the courthouse.
Kelly Vollet, Technology introduced the commissioners to Kim Moore, her new assistance. Vollet also advised that in the Technology meeting it was approved for Dave Osborne, Extension to purchase a new projector.
Commissioner Nickell made the motion to approve $850 for Low to put the 2004 Tax History on the system seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.
Commissioners signed a letter of support for Hoosier Hills Regional Water District/ water extension into North Johnson Township and Citizen Participation Report.
Matt Brook & Jeff Witherbee, Maximus updated the commissioners on a County Cost Plan that they can provide to Ripley County.
Donald Dunbar, Council President updated the commissioners on work that is being done at the Ripley County Park.

Commissioners will make a decision on the Roof Bid at the April 11th, 2005 meeting.
Charles Malinowski, Malinowski Consulting updated the commissioners on a cost recovery plan for Ripley County. President Reiners advised that the commissioners would meet with the office holders and get back to Malinowski Consulting & Maximus.
Mark Klosterkemper, AECON, Inc. advised that INDOT had agreed to pay up to $42,000 on the Busching Bridge. Commissioners signed the State-Local Public Agency Agreement/Construction and Project Management for Federal Aid Projects.
Bill Neal, Ripley County Park Manager recommended that commissioners wait till the weather is better and put the stone directly on the area.
Sandy Howard advised that the month of April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. Commissioners agreed to a pin wheel display for approx. 2-3 weeks and a candle light visual on April 16th at 6:00 PM on the courthouse lawn for Child Abuse Prevention.
Commissioners signed Contract for Services with Ripley County Historical Society for $5,000.
Commissioner Reiners advised that the commissioners would be meeting today at 1:00PM with Jefferson Proving Ground on Bridge #38.
Katherine Taul, Ripley County Tourism Bureau had concerns about her funds that are from EDIT.
Alvin Busching presented the commissioners with concerns about the Busching Bridge and wonder what was taking place on the bridge.
Commissioners met with the Jefferson Proving Ground Official on Bridge # 38.
Commissioner Folz made the motion to adjourn until the next regular commissioner meeting on Monday, April 11th, 2005 at the Ripley County Annex, Versailles, Indiana seconded by Commissioner Nickell. Motion approved unanimously.
