Unapproved Commissioner's Meeting Minutes for March 24, 2008

The Ripley County Commissioners met on Monday, March 28th, 2008 at the Ripley County Annex, Versailles, Indiana.
Commissioner Reiners promptly called the meeting to order at 8:00A.M. All stood for the opening pledge to the flag.
Robert Reiners, Chuck Folz and Lawrence Nickell were in attendance.
Mary Ann McCoy, Ripley County Auditor took minutes for the Commissioners.
Neil Comer, County Attorney, was present to advise the Commissioners on legal matters.
Johnnie Lohrum, Maintenance and Rebecca Mullins advised the Commissioners that they have a new bid from Walsman Supply. Co, bids from G.B. Carpets and Pulskamp’s Flooring Plus for the third floor Court Room, Superior Court, Hall and Prosecutors Offices. Prices are good for 30 days. Lohrum advised the Commissioners that he is getting bids for the new locks on the courthouse doors, roof has a leak in the tower of the courthouse, ground is giving away under the sidewalk and O.P.H has checked/serviced the furnace in the courthouse.
Kelly Vollet, Technology advised the Commissioners that she had nothing to report on at this meeting.
Tad Brinson, Area Planning Commission advised the Commissioners that he had nothing to report on at this meeting.
Tom Grills, Sheriff of Ripley County advised the Commissioners that he would like to close Benham Road for a mock crash. Commissioners agreed to the closing of Benham Road and to the clean up around the flagpole. Grills also advised the Commissioners that he would like to move the fence to give more parking spaces for the Jail.
Commissioners and Highway Department will be working on an auction at the Highway Garage sometime in April.
Ginger Bradford, Clerk Ripley County presented a contract from the state for the Statewide Voting Registration System Agreement. Commissioner Nickell made a motion to approve the Statewide Voter Registration System Agreement between the State of Indiana and Ripley County seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.
Commissioner Folz updated the Commissioners on the Vernon Forks Water District Meeting. Folz advised that he had talked to the Mayor of Greensburg and they are not in need of water at the present time and that another meeting will take place Thursday evening March 27th.
Marty Hon, B & H Bridge Company will be doing quotes for Bridge # 89 for Ripley County.
Commissioner Nickell made a motion to approve the Commissioner minutes from the March 10th Commissioner meeting seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.
Commissioner Nickell made a motion to sign the grant application for a grant from Lawrenceburg, Indiana seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.
Commissioner Nickell made a motion to accept the bid from G & B Carpet, Co of $21,547.77 for the third floor carpet (Carpet Squares) seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.
Commissioner Folz made a motion to sign the Ripley County Local Disaster Emergency Declaration and the Ripley County, Indiana Flood Emergency Proclamation (rain storms on March 18th—21st) seconded by Commissioner Nickell. Motion approved unanimously.
Commissioners signed both the Declaration and Proclamation.
Commissioner Nickell made a motion to appoint Violet Baker as the new Annex Housekeeping effective April 14th, 2008 seconded by Commissioner Folz. Motion approved unanimously.
Commissioner Reiners signed the Contract for Services for Southeastern Indiana Regional Planning Commission for $10,610.
Commissioner Reiners signed the Grant Agreement and Receipt between The City of Rising Sun and Ripley County.
Commissioner Nickell made a motion to adjourn until the next Ripley County Commissioner’s Meeting on Monday, April 7th, 2008 @ 8:00AM in the Ripley County Annex, Versailles, Indiana seconded by Commissioner Folz.. Motion approved unanimously.
