Commissioner's Meeting Minutes for 03/15/04
March 15, 2004
The Ripley County Board of Commissioners met on
Monday, March 15th, 2004
in the Ripley County Annex,
Versailles
,
Indiana
.
John Little, Commissioner President called the meeting to order promptly at
8:00AM
with Commissioners Chuck Folz in attendance.
Robert Reiners was not present for this meeting.
Mary Ann McCoy, Auditor of Ripley County acted as secretary for the board of
commissioners.
Neil Comer was present to advise the Board on legal matters.
The Board signed the payroll check register and claim register for
March 15th, 2004
.
Commissioner Folz made the motion to approve the meeting minutes of
March 1st, 2004
and seconded by commissioner Little. Motion approved by those present. (Little
& Folz)
Rodney Crabtree, R.C. Electric appeared in front of the commissioners concerning
the auto dialer for the generator at the
Annex
Building
.
Tab Brinson, Area Planning Commission & Sam Row, President, Planning
Commission appeared in front of the commissioners with an Ordinance to amend
section 80.99 of the area zoning code of Ripley County, Indiana, 1991, as
amended by adding section 80.99(D) making each day that a violation exists or
continues, a separate offense and violation of the area zoning code of Ripley
County, Indiana. Any person or corporation in violation of this code or chapter
may be punished by a fine of not more than Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars
($2,500) as set forth in section 80.99 © for each month or period of
30days.Commissioner Folz made the motion to approve the above
Ordinance seconded by Little. Approved by those present. (Little &
Folz)
Tab Brinson, Area Planning Commission
& Sam Row, President, Planning Commission appeared in front of the
commissioners with an Ordinance to amend the unified zoning ordinance of Ripley
County, Indiana for part of the S.E. ¼ Section,
& Part of the N.E. ¼ Section 35 both in Township 10 North, Range 12
East. Adams Twp 4.313 Acres For the existing A-2 to L-B. Commissioner Folz made
the motion to approve the above Ordinance and seconded by Commissioner Little.
Motion approved by those present. (Little & Folz)
Kelly Vollet, Technology Coordinator, advised the commissioners that she had a
quote on the installation, programming and testing of a 411 Communicator that is
attached to the existing FACP from Crossman Fire & Safety, Inc ($650) and
Enhance Telecommunications (Sunman Telephone Company) would charge
$100 to make the appropriate telephone connections and an additional
monthly fee of $35 to provide the
monthly monitoring service. Commissioner Folz made the motion to go with
Crossman Fire & Safety, Inc and seconded by Commissioner Little. Motion
approved by those present. (Little & Folz)
Commissioners tabled the contract with The Town of Napoleon till the next
meeting.
Commissioner Folz made the motion to accept R.C. Electric’s quote to install
the auto dialer on generator at the
Annex
Building
($1,250) for Labor & etc seconded by Commissioner Little. Motion approved
by those present. (Little & Folz)
Leonard Eckstein 8997 N. Delaware Rd. Batesville, In. appeared in front of the
commissioners with a petition to have Delaware Road starting at County Road 950
and going south to the end of Delaware Road repaired, chipped and sealed
consisting of approximately 4200 feet. Commissioners took this under advisement.
Katherine Taul, Ripley County Tourism Executive Director appeared in front of
the commissioners and asked if the county could install the new Indiana Format
Historical Markers for Tourism. The two- (2) markers are related to the
Underground Railroad and will be placed on the
Courthouse Square
and the
Flatrock
Church
. Commissioners will get with the county highway about installing the markers.
Taul advised the commissioners that the markers would be unveiled on
Saturday, May 15th @

and also asked for the courthouse to be open on that day.
Kerry Langdon, Engels Maps, Inc appeared in front of the commissioners checking
to see if everything is OK on the new maps. Langdon advised that he would
proceed with the large maps for the county. Commissioners will purchase 20 maps
@ $139 with a total $2,780.
Sandy Howard, Coordinator presented the commissioners with Progress Report on
Ripley
County
/ Prevent Child Abuse and updated the commissioners on the candle light visual
on April 12th pertaining to the Child Abuse Prevention Month and asked
for permission to place the pinwheel on the courthouse lawn.
Commissioners signed the Arab Termite & Pest Control,
Inc. contract for the Ripley County Courthouse.
Commissioner Folz made a motion to appoint Chuck Folz, Pam Sander, Don Swisher,
Connie Dickman and Kelly Vollet as board members for the Redevelopment
Commission seconded by Commissioner Little. Motion approved by those present.
