| Court Appointed Special Advocates are community volunteers who receive special training to advocate for the best interest of children involved in the court system due to abuse or neglect. CASAs are appointed by a judge and remain involved in the case until discharged by the court. It is not necessary for volunteers to have any special educational background, but all volunteers must submit to an extensive background check, interview process, and complete 30 hours of classroom instruction. |
